Video: Hideaway’s Bahamas Passage on our Go Pro

turf to surf sailing bahamas

I’ve mentioned before that our tiny little Go Pro Hero 3 video camera blows my mind. But the truth is, I don’t really know how to use this amazing piece of technology for all it’s capable of.

We all have to start somewhere, though. So experimenting with video footage on iMovie with a big glass of wine at the ready (for troubleshooting purposes) was my job for the evening.

And here are the results. I may not be the next Sofia Coppola but, hey, give a gal some time!

  1. Awesome! I had so many questions but you summed them up at the end :) Any particular reason you went into a marina instead of anchoring? Do you mind if I ask how much the marina was for a night? Congratulations to you!

    • Hi Drena,
We were pretty tired when we arrived so we thought a marina for the first night was a good idea. We could have anchored, but we didn’t…others do. Then we took apart the engine and it seemed like a good spot to sit and do work. The marina is $1.50/foot with pool and showers and it’s in a good spot. Others were $1.00/foot, but this marina is particularly nice, where the others were not. We’ll be anchoring more in future, but it was kind of like a vacation for us :-)

  2. As a human with cats that lives on a boat (not a sailboat.. yet!) I really enjoy seeing you living the dream I hope to manifest in my own existence. Sailing around the world is a magical thing, and your cat advice has already deemed quite helpful!

  3. Awesome video, great trip plans, love your website. I have a C34 myself. Great boat! & some support from the C34ia website. I wish you both well & look forward to your updates.

Gotta keep reading your blog to see where exactly you are at present! haha…wherever it is, I hope the Bota Box supply is getting a real dent! :) Be well!
